Co-occurring disorders (COD) is a specialty treatment that simultaneously addresses both substance use and mental health disorders and is offered in all residential, transitional living, and outpatient treatment programs that CVRS operates. COD treatment is overseen by a licensed clinician and includes weekly individual and group psychotherapy sessions. Evidence-based interventions and gender-responsive approaches are utilized throughout treatment. The minimum length of residential and transitional living COD treatment is 90 days with up to 180 days depending on the individual's need.
Other services offered as part of the COD treatment package include:
- Recreational therapy day trips
- A weekly COD Family Group that delivers psycho-education and support to the significant others of individuals who are receiving COD treatment. Group is led by a licensed clinician.
- Assistance to help individuals with other needs (e.g. transportation, medical, dental, establish housing, further education, and find employment)
